The High Street Jazz Band Spring Educational Tour

Our goal is to provide our services for educational and charitable causes which we do free of charge. This is the band's chance at the end of the school year to give back to the community, and to pass on our passion for band to the next generation.

Every spring, the High Street Jazz Band goes on tour around West Virginia, visiting elementary schools and spreading musical knowledge and fun to the next generation.

Every year since the spring of 2011, the High Street Jazz Band has gone on tour in the spring playing at locations around West Virginia and neighboring states. This has mainly centered around visiting and playing for elementary schools, but has occasionally included other schools and venues. In past tours, we have played for dozens of school assemblies, and led "instrument petting zoos" and other events for school students. These visits usually consist of us playing for the kids and telling them about the music and instruments that we play for about 30-45 minutes.

This has been a great opportunity for students to learn about instruments and music and get them excited about band in the future. We are currently organizing this years tour, which is always the week after WVU's finals week. If you know of a school that might be interested in having us, we would love to hear about it.
